Looks good, but it is a little dark for me

There are plans to develop this further but some people might use it just the way it is.
Any Constructive Comments appreciated of course.

Nice start. I like the colours, and the water has a subtle flow to it.
There's a funny shadow artefact - a hard line along the top of the picture. Also, the shadows around the water's edge are a bit off. The top edge is fine, but the bottom edge seems to be casting a shadow onto the land. Finally, the tree trunks aren't reading quite right as there is foliage as well. I can't tell if the foliage is a canopy, and if so, why we see some canopy in some places but tree trunks only in others.
I love the level of detail in the textures, and the water is beautiful.
Very dark - hard for me to see the details (but I'm old).
Maybe post up a lighter version?

The place is meant to be in a nasty swamp - hence the darkness.
The trunks are rushed. They are trunks. This is around a blacksmith who has cut them for charcoal.
Personally, I'm happy with the colours and the darkness but my method is still too haphazard and time consuming. There are some artifacts from layers that only sort of worked.
