    Post Top-Down House Images

    Hi folks!

Looking for some free (!) house images top-down view. I am looking to recreate maps akin to the WotC town-maps, as seen here:

If you know of such pictures or want to share them, please bump me!

    Thanks in advance!

I can't help you directly. Our top downs are based upon historically accurate roofs and bear no resemnlance to the roofs in the graphic you posted. However, there might be a good answer, depending upon your mapping tools. Your bio doesn't tell us what software you use. If you use CC2, CC2 Pro or CC3, the ProFantasy website has a free download of similar vector symbols created 10 years ago or so by a CC2 user. However, these symbols work only in CC2, CC2 Pro and CC3.

You can pretty much replicate those is most graphic programs. They appear to be basic geometric shapes with bevels, strokes (outlines), and drop-shadows.

Did you already download the CSUAC? It's an enormous, free collection of symbols:
    http://www.gmsapprentice.com/

It contains hundreds of topdown structures.

As a matter of interest, just how enormous is the CSUAC? How many Mb?
I've been planning to download it, but I haven't got around to it and I'm not sure which machine to use and where to store it - depends on its size.
    Cheers.

I am not at home right now, but the CSUAC isn't hundreds of MB's. It's more like dozens. The symbols are rather small themselves.

I just looked at it, the Dundjinni downloads amount to around 600MB (zipped), the CC3 and Fractal Mapper totals will probably be slightly higher.

    Oops... hundreds of MB's then.
I thought they were a lot smaller (but I must confess I only downloaded parts of the CC3 symbol catalogues).

Well that was all of the different parts (bldgs, patterns, etc.), if he just wants the buildings it will be a lot less.
