That seem like a fine idea...
I've been following Devin's Samurai token thread
http://www.cartographersguild.com/showthread.php?t=6714
with interest and fascination, but having now seen how these things are made, I have a suggestion for anyone who draws top-dowm characters:
It would be really great to have mix n match character sets.
A folder containing twenty pairs of legs, twenty torsos, forty arms, twenty heads and forty weapons (for example) would make up hundreds of possible characters, making it much easier to get exactly the character you want.
Even a complete rookie like me could layer and group the png sections in almost any drawing program to make a complete character.
If the sections were initially given lurid colours, the talentless rookie could even select and alter the colours of clothes and skin in Gimp et al* to provide even more of an assortment.
Unfortunately, it's beyond my skill to draw these things - all I can do is suggest and hope.
*No, Tolkienites, that's not 'gimbatul'.

Cheers Gidde, My drawing is similar. Hopefully if I bump the thread often enough, someone with the approprate talent may see it and make comment.
