    Post Holy cow!!!!!!!!!!!

    Holy Cow! I just checked the Paizo Publishing site for their Cities Project (Due around December or so), and the cover of the project is the City of Ilizmagorti. This was the city I mapped for Paizo Publishing, and I am thrilled to see Robert Lazzaretti's rework of the Map I did, and featured (at least as I can tell) as the Cover for the Product.

    Here is the Cover (I believe):

    And here is the City as I handed it over to Paizo (rotated to match the Cover).

    Fantastic! Congratulations on getting that through with such a great result. I've been wondering about the end result of the secret city project for a while. I'm really pleased to see this in its finished form.

    I can't wait to get the finished product in my hand and look at all the ways it is the same and different. I can already see similarities and difference in the small picture.

    And you got paid for this I hope? I guess it must be great to see a city you designed so prominently displayed, but aren't you a teeny bit narked that it says cartography by some other guy when it is basically your map tarted up?

    I'm not sure whether to be really pleased for you or a little bit annoyed for you... but as you seem to be really pleased I'll plump for that one.

    I was thinking the same thing. If you're happy then I'm happy for ya. Good work, bro.

    Gratz =)

    The rework looks fantastic, though I can see that the layout of the city has a lot to do with that, so if thats your work, you should feel proud =)
    I wouldn't get upset over it, since it looks like the map has been tweaked and worked on for quite a bit so that little of the original is untouched, which more or less makes it an entirely new piece. Which means they obviously liked your original!

    Nope. Doesn't bother me in the slightest, because it is exactly what I was hired to do. Make a 'Working Copy' of the map for the project Cartographer to redo. I knew going in that my map would be the blue print for the cartographer to redo, and I provided a great deal of detail for them to work from.

    This was pretty much the same response I made when the call went out

    Neonknight knew what he was going for though and I am happy for him. It's certainly cool to see an improved/upgraded version of a map which you made and seeing it published. Both maps look great, but the final version really shines.

    Not only did NN know... the immediate previous pathfinder chronicles item (which I just got in the mail) credits each original mapper...

    That's a great result, NN! As long as the company were straight with you and gave you due credit that's all that matters.

    My guilty secret is that everytime I go into a bookshop, I look for the paperback edition of 'The Steel Remains' and go to the map page and say to myself...'I did that'. It's a great feeling more than any money can buy.
