    Thanks for the comments. I am still looking for ways to sharpen up the mountains, but a more simplistic approach as Davros01 suggested. I will have a look at the maps you have suggested and create a couple more versions. Thank for the input guys

    So here is another possibility for mountains, the are very simple, no shadows or fill, just straight lines. I used a fountain pen to draw these, then scanned and cleaned them up in photoshop to make brushes. Made about 8 different brushes, and just created one mountain range to get an idea.

    I think that's a couple of lakes. See how the outline is thicker there?

    ah, good catch, i didn't notice. It still just looks odd. An almost straight line, with lakes elongated into that straight line.

    However thats just a personal observation.

    It can be changed, I dont have everything the way I want it. It is a work in progress afterall Any comments on the mountains?

    I'm no expert on mountains, but they look a bit crowded to me. Maybe make then less densly packed?
