Yep, like the roads. The shipping lanes look identical to your political borders though. Perhaps do them as dark dots or dashed lines? They made me wonder why there were shipping lanes over the land for a while (portage routes)

I am not going to post another pic of my map but I just wanted to finish this thread by saying that I have taken Torstan's advice but instead of changing my shipping lanes I changed my political borders to a dashed line instead of a dotted one. I also added a few more labels and now I think its ready for print. Thanks to all for the help!

That said, I couldn't be happier with the way this map has turned out. I can't wait to have a poster size copy of it hanging on my wall so I can look at it that much more
