    No worries
I am really enjoying this whole thing.
I'm having some trouble this week with time, but I'm trying to check in frequently.
I was pushing this week to see if I could maybe get to some sort of finished level with this map...
but not likely. I did get a nice amount completed yesterday and today though.

One lesson learned from this escapade - don't do the semi-caterpillar lines. Just go strait into shading from a ridge line.
So I'll have to try it again, after this map is done.

I'm kind of surprised by that, J. As I look at your map, I've been thinking about how I would do it on paper, and I figured I would put the caterpillar lines on first because they would help me plan out the extent and depth of the shading. Are you finding that's not the case?

I thought that too, at first. And to some degree the caterpillar lines do help in that way. But... what I noticed happening was that I would constrain what I was doing based on those caterpillar lines.
But some of the better mountain areas came from ignoring the cats and just shading how it felt natural to go.
When I draw in the cats, I tend to do them a certain way - more ridged and less free form. And when I just start shading, it seems to be more organic.
Plus, skipping the caterpillar lines stage saves a ton of time... especially if I don't end up using them in the end.

After this map, I think I'm going to do some freestyle mountains.
While doing loads of ranges is taxing, it's also brought a lot of ideas to the foreground as well.

    Here's the first update tonight.
I'm going to try to get some more labeling in tonight, if possible.
Also some more river tributaries too.

The progress is DEFINITELY noticeable.. Amazing work and persistence. Looking forward to seeing more labeling and your awesome names you come up with.

Also, as for deadline, anything in mind? Not many people are finished and it's the 20th tomorrow.

Here's as far as I could get tonight. sigh, too tired.
But it's looking nice. Always enjoy adding the labels toward the end.
    Josiah - I'll announce something.
