So do you (anyone) think we need a fixed scaling multiplier (that could be adjusted to the latitude or not) ?

If that was directed at me then I am not bothered. It makes no difference to me whether its fixed or not so I abstain from that kind of decision or vote. If someone else is also planning on making an overall world map of the plots then let them decide. Personally I think it would be a good idea for someone else to additionally make another version of the combined world map in case I am not available for some reason.

I can collect the maps (in Jpeg or PNG) but I'm not sure I can put them together.

I will go with no scaling multiplier if Falconius agrees.

I don't care, I'm pretty sure I'm making my map in a slight perspective.... sooo.... it won't join up with anything, thankfully it's an island.

No scaling then. Now we just need to settle with the copyright topic.

In WIlbur you can go from any projection to any other projection.
So you simply go from equirectangular (used here) to orthographic (showing a sphere) and then choose center of projection 90,0 (North pole) or -90,0 (South pole).

I loaded the world map into Fractal Terrains from ProFantasy (buy yours today!) as an image overlay that covered the whole world and then used the projection features of FT to get different views.

An update of the climates. The last image above wasn't very good quality, so I deleted it. The climates should make more sense now but I might continue to improve the map in the future.

And of course I had to redo the biome map. This time, I used my own categories.

the reference file for the biomes.

Also, I was wondering if there was some interesting thematic maps that people would like ?

Nice. Why'd you decide to use your own categories? I like them because now they are immediately apparent to me what they actually are; as opposed to the crazy lettering system.
