Any ideas?

This seems like a perfect candidate for pulling into Gaea (there is a free version). This would allow you to smooth and erode with a high level of customization and it is quite easy to pick up, unlike sculpting in Blender.

Here's an example of what a few minutes in Gaea can do with your heightmap. With some more time you could obviously customize the terrain a lot more to get the look and shape you want.

Looks cool! Though depending on era may want to add a parking lot somewhere. Not trying to nitpick. That just kinda jumped out at me though.

Turambar that looks really cool, I might have to play with that after all. I ended up going with the blender sculpt because it gave me a lot of control where I needed it, around the buildings. I abandoned the contour lines.

SharpPointyStick, no parking lot, set between 1897-1910... Haven't settled on an exact date but it'll have gravel drives and roads since its on the outskirts of town, and no parking lots from what I've seen referenced.

I've been working on adding some of the content from the map to my level, I wiped out all the trees I had before in order to redo them and started working on all the spline based elements such as roads and paths and the wall. Here's some shots of the terrain in the engine.

Edit: I'm aware of the roughness of the paths and redundancy of textures. That will all be sorted later once all the planning is done. I'm not even done with the building yet, I'm just bouncing around as my interests and motivations drive me. Next I may be modeling a 20' round Victorian gasometer... Look that up for a good time, lol.

Figured I'd drop some updated screenshots. I've finally got the landscape sculpted the way I want and The grounds map with the trees has really paid off...I haven't filled in the thick forested areas, but the individual trees are all placed here. I REALLY love these shots.
