Thanks everyone. OK, here are the base colors. The panoramic is about complete at this point but I still have to add shading and highlights to the mainland.

Thats very nice color scheme and upfront illustration, nice job, looking foward to final. Maybe a little shoreline detail?
Looks super nice Arsheesh. Only thing is maybe the rocks in the sea, the shading make them looks like almost top down or is it me?

OK, coloring for the mainland is done. My client requested a new compass rose based upon a design from one of his other maps so I've still got to do that, add labels and finish some other odds and ends.
