Where I live the local government dug out the sides of mountains and created tunnels to run trains through. That might be a consideration when mapping your trains going through the hills. So far your ideas sound really cool. I look forward to seeing what you do next.

    Hello all,

    so what´s going on?

Went quite a long way. First I thought about inserting some handdrawn stuff, but it all turned out rather ugly, due to my lack
of drawing skills... So my initial concept for the look of the map had to be changed quite a bit.

    What´s new:

    - Added first run of railways, it really was time for it. Decided to abstract them with dashed black/white lines. In opposite to what was suggested, I did it all in GIMP( did not achieve very good results in Inkscape, because I did not have much time to familiarize with it)
    - Added Isohypses and colored those Isohypsed Areas. (Godus style, if anyone knows this awful thing. But it has a nice style)
    - Railways mainly run in valleys, as is easily seen this way
    - Added some forests.
    - Showed major attack routes of outlaws ot of their area.

    What´s next:

    - Still adjusting my palette and the overall style (my preferences seem to change hourly...), especially the ocean does not fit the rest anymore
    - Adding some fluff
    - Adding frame
    - Adding labels
    - Want to include some general freight and train information
    - Want to include a railway tunnel in the north
    - Outlaw regions will become moor region.

What do you all think? Any suggestions, criticism or similar ?

    So, next update:
(sorry for double post, but I think these two post should be separate)

    What´s new:

    - added underwater Isohypses.
    - added railway tunnel in the north
    - added mountain top - symbols
    - added underwater-railways to the islands
    - added trade route over the ice to Ireland
    - added faction symbols: Faction power in towns is represented by faction symbol. (Five differrent factions, yet to name)

    What´s next:

    - definitely naming
    - framing
    - legend
    - numbering those radiation lines
    - oh, and don´t forget to fill in some cargo and trading information!

    (low Resolution!)

Reconsidered my last versions as a little bit too colourful for a post-apocalyptic setting, so I am playing around with colours a little bit.

    What´s new:

    - Named Cities
    - Named most of the railways
    - Added Numbers on Iso-Radiation Lines, without proper physical unit. I think I´ll put that in a legend.

    What´s missing:

    - Framing
    - Labeling of terrain features.
    - Legend
    - Cargo and trading information
    - Rivers, which I temporarily removed since they were not complete, anyways.

What do you all think about the new colours ?
    Suggestions?
Does anybody like it, at least?

What a great map! I agree that the colors look better for what you were going for. Nice job.

    Update:

    - Reworked Ice
    - Added Labels
    - Started Working on Framing

    What´s missing:

    - Legend
    - I hope I can fill in some fluff and faction/background/cargo explanations, if time allows
    - Smaller terrain features still don´t have names

Really great work on this. I love the ice sheet encroaching there - poor Ireland!
