This map is shaping up really fast! Great job Sapiento.

    @Wannabeharo-Nice suggestion.

I can't think of a quick way to do it correctly though. There are some quick and dirty programs for starting with equidistant cylindrical and converting to other projections but not for starting with an azimuthal projection, whichever one you are using (I'd guess Stereographic). I should really try playing around with GDAL more as there's probably a way to do it fairly easily using that.
OK. I think I keep it as it is now, but for future maps I will take this into account before I start mapping.

Something like this (done stupid fast using my crappy software tools at work)
Thanx. I had a similar idea!

    Thank you!

I reduced the thickness of the waves, and thickened the lines of the landmass and the 'outer' shoreline.

A very well done map. The really aged map is a bit dark for my taste, but ... that's just taste.

One thing I notice is that you have two Glacial Seas, though they're cut off from one another by the mass Rakateria.

It's actually the same sea; as it covers the northern part of the planet I thought I place the name on both hemispheres.

Yes, but it's *not* the same sea. It doesn't link up. There are two Mare Glacialis, linked by the Mare Vitium and the Mare Perpinium. The north pole is land, far as I can tell.

Your single Mare Glacialis is more like the Mare Glacialis Thyspianum and the Mare Glacialis Ilitiaenum.

Yea.. he's right.... It took me a few moments to catch it and verify, but it is there.... Good catch Lukc(now I know who to call for my maps... that is if I can ever get one finished!)

At first I couldn't recognize Thyspianum and Ilitiaenum . But then I guess that's an issue when you invent names in just a second.
But you are right! Good eye!

    Names changed.
I also edited the wave pattern and the appearance of the coast as well as the paper texture.

I like the paper texture, it gives more contrast and less distraction. The coast effect though kind of makes it look like you've cut out the land and glued it on blocks so it's raised over the map. It kind of clashes with the straight black and white of the rest of the map.

    Again just clean lines.

    I think this is finished.

    Any ideas or critiques?
