Yes I have the book but never considered it more than theories.
I never gave it a thorough reading, because of that and I take it with a grain of salt.
The thing is while it helps understanding the world, this in not realpolitik either.
For example, it doesn't give a clue why France joined the protestant during the religious wars. According to the civilization theory, they should have sided with the Latin/Catholics countries but did the opposite.

As a fun fact, many of your maps have inaccuracies, like the last one has 3 Korea. And the other one is missing New Zeland
It's a personal thing, I know I spend too much time looking at the details and this makes the whole idea wrong in my view.

Anyway I think we are getting off topic for this site.
Unless we talk about the map posted here by Christophe.

Not the point of the book, it was designed to predict the near future of the post-cold war era(1990's). Not the past or far future. It was a method of understanding the immediate political reality, which it did very accurately. The Korea Map with 3 Korea's is an attempt by the map maker to show the DMZ and the map was not sanctioned by Huntington.

I agree though, not the place to continue the political discussion. If you wish to continue, galendae@yahoo.com
