It's funny how as soon as I see this challenge, I had just finished watching the Walking Dead.
Can't wait, Wingshaw. Your stuff is always cool.

Oh Greg! You were never silly! (re your signature).
Anyway, if there's only a choice between being silly and being sensible, I'd rather be silly any day
Diamond - Can zombies climb well greased electric pylon girders? I'm trying to work out if my fort would be effective.

In World War Z, one of the most terrible and stupid movies ever made, way worse than the stupid book it was based on, the zombies can form huge piles -for some reason- and climb over 20 meter walls.
Now you mention it, I think I may have fallen asleep to that film once a long time ago.
I think I need to make it so that my defenders can get onto the cables and use their cable trolleys to move out to the next pylon - as a last resort. A chain of fortresses

Forming huge piles should be feasible with normal physics assuming there are enough zombies to pile up, like a pyramid.
And assuming they have some sort of hive mind that can force them to do so (But it's still a very inefficient strategy).
In Wolrd war Z, if I recall correctly, they formed columns not just piles. Straight up like a building. Now that didn't make sense.
...Which is probably why it wasn't the slightest bit scary, and I fell asleep
