Thanks Dan and ChickPea, hope I'll have time to advance it tonight.

Here's the second draft. A little bit cleaner but in dire need of cleaning ! Tried to add some shadows and reworked everything from 300dpi to 600 dpi to achieve more details. Using red will help when it becomes serious I guess. I need to add some trees in the oasis area and some tents plus the dunes or rocks (still haven't decided yet) in the desert area. The solar eclipse setting is seducing but it's gonna be tricky to shade the scenery so it might not stay. I plan this map to be some kind of summary for a scene. ... I'm not clear. In an RPG, a DM can have descriptions well written or NPCs or places where things are supposed to happen. This map is (literally) a sandbox. There'll be a legend with numbers and a light description so that a DM can have a global view of what's going on.

I'm still not sure about the rhino but if he's here, the old mage Olatunde might not be far...

Thanks everyone ! When I jumped into this one, I was very uncertain of what I could achieve and I was aiming high. In fact I was inspired by some of your works J.Edwards. I wanted to do a landscape with the kind of perspective and details you put in maps like the Thurian Age or the Northlands, something very immersive. I hope I can give this feeling. However, it'll be hard to find some time to work on this one in the coming days as I'm moving in a new appartment. Hope to settle quickly because drawing this setting is pretty exciting and I'd like to have the time to go as far as coloring it. Hope I'll at least finish the linework, shading and legend. And I'm thinking of a border with engraved cuneiform symbols and maybe a little backstory in the form of an egyptian-like frise (Tom did something similar on his Graenlandir large map) but that's a longshot.

Thanks again for your kind words everyone, it motivates me to try new things !
