The border started with the more simple islands and became more challenging with some of these maps.

City maps are definitely time consuming.

    Again a beautiful city map!!
Mediterranean kind of mood, with cats relaxing on terraces, old women dressed in black, fishermen coming back and olive trees covering the hills...
    Hehe, thanks Robin
For some reason when I read that I started picturing old "women-in-black" [think MiB]

I try to imagine looking around in these terrains as I work on them.

I really like the way this city is distributed along the river that winds its way through the valley: it's very different from what we usually see: the environment is much more present and influences urbanization much more strongly. It gives a very special charm to the map and above all, it requires a careful and thorough reading of the details... Very good work!

I try to think of the location first and work out a good amount of the terrain before plotting the roads and buildings.

Sometimes, an old thread of yours I planned on commenting a long time ago pops up and I have the opportunity to right my wrong. Besides the usual awesomeness (what a strange expression ) of your city maps, I love how well integrated the border is to the design, it's very organic.

This one was definitely planned to be incorporated into the design from the beginning.
I'm trying to recall which map was first....
I think it was Cerulean or Hag island, which i haven't posted here yet.

Hmm, maybe shoot me a message somewhere with what maps are in the map pack.
I'm just curious. Whatever platform or messaging service is easiest.
