Hah! That sounds like an eminently sensible precaution...

    ...and an awesome challenge suggestion

In between baking a pie I've managed to do a bit more to this, including adding a bit more terrain and adding a hint of colour. I need to start adding some places and, more importantly, get some Guild members in there.

Very interesting new style for you, Straf !
    I lile your mountains a lot !
Regarding the scale, I wonder if you shouldn't diminish the amount of coastal lines ?

Thanks JO I'm still tinkering with different styles of things. I've removed the coastal rings for now, I'll work on them later. I've just partitioned the land into regions for now.

I didn't thought you woul take them all away... it just seemed to me that there was too much of it (because now, the landmasses seems deconnected with the sea)
Anyway, I hope you'll finish this one on time for the challenge, I think you're up to a beautiful map here !

I'll be adding some more at a later stage I think JO. I've added a cartouche with some gold lettering just to see how it looks.

It's looking great, Straf. I like the colour palette very much.

I love the look and feel of the map and I even like the effect you’re getting in the relief but those repeating patterns have to go they stick out like a sore thumb and are way too distracting from all the nice things you have going on here.

Thanks Mouse. I'll have to find something to put in there

Thanks ChickPea. I've got a look inside my head that I'm aiming for but I don't think I'm quite there yet.

Thanks kacey. I've taken a break from the mountains for a while as there's quite a lot of tweaking needed there and I want to get on with the other bits.

I've started to add some labels and I've included the goldy bits in the cartouche frame. I think it's starting to come together now. I've got cities and things to add, and then perhaps think about a frame.
