Yup, this one goes in my favorites! The colors work really well! And the shading..It is a really gritty and cold landscape. Love it!

Who doesn't want to rid themselves of politicians ?
Thanks TianaAwesome. I haven't seen all the work that Brent has commissioned for the campaign, but it is looking so good.
Thanks BogieIt was probably one of the most involved coastlines I've ever done.
Thanks DD
I often lean toward warmer colors, so this one is a nice change.
Looking back, I should do an alternate Grimnir with some of that Drifthall water and see what that looks like.

Yeah, I haven't seen all of the work either, but I did see your map early on, as it was kind of a "mood setter" for the smaller scale areas that were commissioned. Your work on it is really good.

I know this is not the norm for posting, but I didn't want to create a new thread that would include maps I had shown here already. So I'm just going to post up all of the rest of the Raiders maps here for everyone.
It was a big project and took a good while to complete, but was a very interesting challenge. I'm not sure if there is a limit of pics that can be posted in one post, so maybe I will split them between two posts here.
I'll repost the ones already posted just so they are visually together.

It isn't everyday you get the chance to work on so many maps for one campaign.

These are all beautiful maps! Do you use specific brushes to achieve your distinct unique style?
I believe I could see your maps and identify your work o:
This thread is a dragon's hoard ! Great job John !
Thanks Valterink
I mostly just use a round hard brush in photoshop. That's like 95% of it.
I have a blending brush I got from deviant art a long time ago. I think it was Nebezial's smudge brush, though it looks like that is now gone on DA.
The next best thing is this one, though I can't speak for it as I do not use that one, it's just based on the one I use.
For the smudge, I use it at like 8-12 opacity. Ocassionally I use a basic soft round brush at 30% opacity and 40% flow. That's mostly it, unless there is some really specific thing needed, texture-wise. I occasionally make brushes if needed for certain things.
I've done that for stone flooring sometimes.
Thanks Thomas![]()
