This is quite cool actually. It makes me want to get back into terraforming.

That's a nice idea waldronate, love the penicillium shape! Looking forward to see the labels on it...

The more I look at this map the more I like it. Only you could make an almost perfectly circular island a thing of interest and beauty

I managed to get a little labeling in while watching the children over the last few days. I'm not sure that I'll get anything else done on this before the deadline.

Those markers and the text size do make it look like it has acne, don't they? It's not quite as bad at the full size.

I would keep adding labels, but Harrington gets a bit old after a while and some of those 300 species names on Wikipedia are not exactly fun to read ( Tsitsikammaense and Shennonghianum are good examples). It would probably do better with a nicer border and some differences in markers, but I'm tired and Photoshop is a real paint to deal with after a few dozen of those things.

I had planned to have a nice repeating mushroom pattern similar to the Geometria one, but I couldn't find a nice piece of clip art that I felt comfortable stealing. There are some nice spore prints out there, but they are usually guarded by the multi-headed licensing beasts. A simple semi-transparent line will have to do.
