Great work. I love the border, the rich detailing that makes you look twice and the coloration: vivid yet not distracting.
I can certainly see cheerful in it but it is not the first impression that I get. Bleak was the wrong word earlier. The colors are a tad bit more orange/red than what I think I normally see. and muted? No matter how hard I try to put this into words I cannot come up with the correct phrases. Definitely a thread I will save for inspiration though.
I am honoured, thank you !Originally Posted by Ilanthar

Thanks for the precisions, I think I understand what you are trying to convey. Earlier versions of the map looked more yellow-ish and I tried different things to fix it, like playing with the balance of colors. That might explain some things...Originally Posted by Arimel

Wow this is fantastic Marc! Love the complimentary color scheme and the richly detailed border. A feast for the eyes.

What a lovely map!
Are all these maps for the same short story? And can we read that story somewhere?
I like how your maps are always "whole" with their composition of map, title and frame. And it makes me happy to see a female fighter character not looking... I don't know ... silly (like wearing only a chain bikini or something ). You might know what I mean. I love the hatchings!
(Seeing how you do the forests here, I'm wondering if a map of yours has once inspired mine. Interesting. )
Thanks a lot !Originally Posted by arsheesh
Thank you for the kind words. I know exactly what you mean. An armour is meant to protect. While "female armours" are sadly common in fantasy, it's a nonsense in a proper medieval setting.Originally Posted by Yrda
About the short story, I never managed to finish it. I began to write it mainly for pleasure and to develop some ideas. It's written in french, by the way.
