So here's another little update, near done I reckon just labeling and legend etc. to go. I think some time spent on shading would go a long way, not sure whether i will bother though.

Very nice! Excellent job on this. My only nitpick would be about the labels : they do not match fully the style the map imo.

I agree with Ilanthar - the map looks wonderful but the font choice for the locations doesn't really work well.
The sans serif that you used for the longitude/latitude looks better.
Also, the white part of the sea would probably look better as a light blue. Just lighter than your last lightest blue sea color.
It would make the map more cohesive. Still, that said, your maps does look great icemaneli.

So, had some internet troubles (lightning and routers don't mix) and only realized the challenge is closing shortly. I've just quickly got this map to a mostly finished state and took on some of the advice of others as best I could in such a short time (thanks for the tips though). So here it is...
