    I have never tried to work with a surface of that size (I really don't have that much patience). I also don't have CC 2015, so I can't test that.

    It's possible that the Spectre/Meltdown mitigations introduced with some of the recent OS patches might be causing some issues with large surface operations, especially when Wilbur is trying to save undo information. One way to reduce the memory footprint is to use Edit>>Preferences and set the Undo Levels to 1 or 2. Certain operations aren't very well-behaved in terms of the amount of stack that they use (basin fill is one example), so that might also be something that happened recently.

    You might also get better behavior by using regedit to delete the HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Slayton Software\Wilbur registry item.

    Well I can't speak for anyone else, but I would certainly pay for an updated version if that makes any difference to the equation

    (and even though my machine is no longer powerful enough to run Wilbur on a global scale map, thanks to Win 10 and the Intel processor security updates)
