This is looking really good!
The map works nicely on its own, and then adding the hand was a neat little twist! I can just really imagine seeing a "how-to" book with a cover just like this!
Its practically perfect
Can I suggest a tiny amendment?
The title is incredibly close to the bottom edge. I wonder if it would look a bit less crunched up if you inched it up the cover just a wee bit?

There are allot of great entries going into this challenge, but this is by far my favorite. I really like the effect you have going on around the water, really nice job so far.
Thank you Straf and GLS for your kind words and encouragement!
Thank you Mouse! I was considering adjusting the title and you pointing it out just confirmed that I should. Hopefully it works better now.
Wow, thank you very much!

Its looking very good, and the cover title is much better placed even though you've only moved it a tiny bit, but...
I'm suffering a really peculiar optical illusion with this one that I could only dispel by taking my ruler to the screen. I think its because the back cover is currently relatively spacious and white compared to the front, but the illusion is that the back cover is wider. Its not, its spot on - I've just checked, but it just looks that way to me. How weird is that?

Impressive job and a wonderful idea !
It's gorgeous! I'm glad you decided to include a back page too.
