    While I am still trying out those forests, I decided to give my coasts a go and add some effects. Just simple gray-scale shading with three shades:

    I think that adds enough for the land to "pop up" from the sea. Also tried to mimic the coastal waters and give some random shallows close by (also some deeper gulfs).

    Thank you all for polite comments.

    I happened to get bit sick two days ago and had time to draw. Smallish accident, I raced and finished the whole work... Decided to live with my errors and hope that I learnt from them.
