I don't know what to say that hasn't already been said, so I'll just sit here and drool.

Masterful work as always John. I really enjoyed hearing the story behind this piece as well. What a wonderful gift. It must be really rewarding to have one's friend's and colleagues provide their own artistic vision of one's fantasy world. I look forward to seeing more maps of Oneira in the future.

    Cheers,

I love this style of his...always inspiring my imagination of the places we see.

It's still a bit weird to me that someone with the skills of Beee is commissioning maps ^^ (no offense meant with this, it's just a feeling of surprise on my part)

And yes, I'd indeed love to see how she does map her own world!
And more maps from the same world but by different artists is always great to behold (imho and ymmv, of course). So here's another one (like J himself) who'd like to see more versions
    Thanks Eilathen
I'm glad Beee and Oni are doing some commissions.
I think its such a cool thing within our community.
I'm always pleasantly surprised by our Guild.

Again, I'm glad they commissioned it.
It's cool to wander around in someone else's world for a time.

Just wonderful. You're pushing further the limits of fantasy cartography.

It is so ornate, it is so masterfully executed and you add so much details in it ! Can I ask the size of the working file ? I'll certainly purchase a print !

This is an odd case, as I did the work for my client at the size they requested, which ended up being around 12.5 x 12.8 inches @ 300 dpi.
Then, knowing I had a limited time to sell prints, I went through a process to enlarge the piece to offer more print sizes.
I've tried this technique before and found it to be effective. I increased the print size to 18 x 18.5 @ 300 dpi.

Gorgeous. All the maps I've seen in this 'Skenara' style are stunning. The colors, shading, details, coastlines, continent shapes and the drawings within (dragon, maelstrom, etc...) make the them really immersive. Some of the coolest maps I've seen.

    Thanks so much, Vordus
I'm glad people enjoy that style, as it's such a pleasure to work in.
