Not really, such a shield would probably having some centered element. The wolf would fit better a round shield imo.

Miranda, if you're interested, I have a heraldry topic in "General and Miscellaneous Mapping" you might be interested in:

No problem Miranda. Also you can check some of my maps where I use heraldry, Selvarin, Kryll and Kesh (currently WIP) if it helps.

I'm running out of steam with my heraldry so I'm stopping for a bit. I like what i have so far but i will most likely keep tweaking them as time progresses.

Seems pretty decent job though you may want to test the shields on your map in order to adjust colors and tones.

Lovely heraldry! Do you draw the designs yourself or do you find them somewhere? Great job either way. I think the wolf, the tree and circle, and the mermaid could be slightly smaller, especially the mermaid almost touches the edge of the shield. Of the two mermaid versions, I like No-Wave better, it makes the character stand out more.

With the Mermaid crest. I'd use both, but for the waves, make them much more pronounced so they'd be an additional element. That way, the two would be separate yet related crests.

MAX - Oh i plan on it, for now. These where done a little rushed so i plan to sit on them for a while. Once its time to put them on the map then ill start making a few more and adjusting what i have. Thanks again Max!

LINGON - They where symbols i found in various brush and custom shape packs for photoshop. I think that actually looking for the shapes was the hardest part. Most of them where free - but i spent around 10$ for two packs. It was worth it. And i think ill take you up on the suggestion to make them smaller! Thank you.

WILLP - The only problem i could see with that is the fact that i don't actually foresee myself needing both crests. But thank you for the tip on making the waves more pronounced - maybe that will help me decide.
