This is beautiful Pixie! Especially with the sharper/less pixellated land and sea gradients. The sort of thing I aspire to do one day. I agree with Snodsy on the labels, having the scale/compass/legend (if you're going to make one) on the bottom right and the ocean name on the top would really balance it out well.

So I took your ideas into the design - basically, relocating the labels for "Danip Ocean" and adding a legend box. As I added the legend box I decided to add also a pair of symbols into the map - main airports and important seaports.

Here's the result. I think it all adds up pretty well and I'm inclined to consider this a finished map - also, I'm starting a second one on the "Coasts of Acur" series... to become a WIP soon.

As always, I'm very interested in your feedback and thank you all who commented in any way (with special thanks for those that offer praise!! )

So the latest version posted had a couple of minor issues, but for a perfectionist like me, they were urgent fixes.. These fixes I did and then went on to experiment with changing the coastal line a little bit to show estuaries/deltas, which I did.

And then I took a step back and had a deep breath.... it's finished.
