    Some more ideas:

    Land of confusion
    This is not America
    Great southern land
    Avalon
    Waterfront
Six months in a leaky boat
    We built this city
    Fortress around your heart
    Walking on the moon
    Mad world
    Endless road
    Bridge to your heart
    Walking on the Chinese wall
    Two tribes

    Some thoughts

    Stairway to Heaven
    Highway to Hell
    Scarborough Fair
    Dixie
    Red Dirt Road
    Misty Mountais

So many choices... does it have to be one song?

Technically, I'm out as I started or finished (depends on the map) out of the time frame plus, I cannot show it right now, but I really appreciate the sarcasm, thanks Straf and ChickPea

"All along the watchtower" by Bob Dylan with Conan and Subotai raiding the tower of the white elephant.
"Night boat to Cairo" by Madness with a certain lovecraftian feeling.

I really regret not having time for this ...

Hmm, I love that song, but I gotta say it would not have been my first choice for a mapping challenge. The Guild is, for the most part, a family-friendly kind of place, and anything too 'adult' is unsuitable. Sooo if you can produce a 100% family friendly map, then go for it. That'll certainly be a challenge, as Closer is pretty much the diametric opposite of family-friendly, but maybe you can pull it off in Old English.

Keep it clean, folks! Keep it clean.

    Some great ideas here.

More good suggestions. As for whether it has to be one song, well, I don't see why not. If a map in the style of 70s concept albums appeals, go for it!

    My pleasure.

Too bad you can't join in. All those forests you could have drawn...!

All along the watchtower is a fantastic suggestion!

Oh maaaaaan, I really want to try this one! I've been wanting to try my hands at making a map inspired by Big Country's "Thirteen Valleys" for as ages now. I don't think I will have the time, though...

    Dang!

I know exactly which song I'm doing

On a mountain in Virginia stands a lonesome pine...

One of my dad's favourite songs, and one that I grew up listening to on an old 78 record (yes, young uns - I really am that old!)

Nice choice, Mouse! Will this be another hand-drawn map or a CC3+ map?

I'm itching to get my teeth into something with mountains in it with my new Wacom

EDIT: but I might combine the two styles - hand drawn foreground with Wacom mountains in the distance? I don't know yet. Still dreaming the scene into view in my mind's eye right now

Great idea, if I have time - probably Solsbury Hill - Peter Gabriel.
