Love your work Rongar! It's cheeky, fun and doesn't take itself too seriously!

Thanks a lot, damon! Just like me then.

Getting somewhat closer to the final. I created some fold lines and a first draft for labels. There won't be many more, if at all. I also wrote a little poem that holds the clues to the route, but I'm not yet sure if I wanna include it in the map or make a separate letter for it and place that letter next to the map (on a table maybe). Or I'll just post it as introduction to the final map. I still need to finalize the land texture and, if I have enough time, I'd love to try and create a few battle map-like landmarks like ruins or sunken ships. That would be a first, though. Never done anything like that for a sat style map, actually never done anything like that, period.

PS: I bet you can tell that I have no idea how water needs to flow in order to create beaches. I just guesstimated. I also decided against the inclusion of rivers. This is just a small island and I don't think rivers could actually exist there.

    Made a custom background. Thoughts?

Its a lovely composition and beautiful colours as well, Rongar

I'm having a bit of trouble resolving the difference between the old script font and badly stained instruction sheet, and the comparatively modern font and gorgeous rich colours of the map. I love both these styles in their own right, but I can't resolve the difference between the two of them in my mind - can't explain how come the parchment would be in such an ancient state when the map looks almost brand new.

    Its probably just me, though

Yeah, it's quite the split, isn't it? What if I included the "original" map of Capt'n Arr'r, a map so heavily worn that it isn't of much use anymore, so you (the treasure hunter) went and got yourself a modern map instead? Or is that too much of a back story for it to work? Something like this:

    Oh that's the perfect explanation

    Now everything is right.

Great work here, the "borders" of the map are simply perfect!

Really nice Rongar. Just a little thing: to me, the map work, story etc is brilliant but the layout on the table is just a little too square. Perhaps you could put one or two of the paper elements at an angle?

I hadn't noticed that... I think it really depends on whether you are a compulsive picture straightener or not. I am, so the square arrangement really pleases me, even though diagonals are more 'dynamic'! LOL!
