Yeah, it doesn't look so bad, even if it's not quite what you intended.

I also take Mouse's attitude that every map (or 3D render) is a learning experience. So even if you're not happy with the final result, you've doubtless learned something along the way... even if that's what NOT to do!

Yeah, every map in this thread is going to be a learning experience. I still hate that one though. Thanks guys.

    Here is this weeks:

I don't know why I keep jumping back to ink since it seems to go so wrong. This time largely because of this paper I found, it absorbs the ink like a paper towel, or so it feels like at times. Anyways I had this piece of paper that was scrap and was stained and had "character" so I decided to use it. Last time I try ink or any wet material with it though, just not worth it and I've got much better paper for ink I think. I also found that I can get very controlled scorching on the paper with this fancy heat gun I got for sculpture but never thought of using on paper before, that can go up to 600 C. Can produce some very useful effects. I think I could even burn those picturesque holes through the paper if I wanted.

This was largely a study of J. Edwards maps. I think that is fairly obvious, especially with the road labels style (which I am a huge fan of) lol.

Edit: I notice I also forgot to label the church haha.

The map has a nice worn look to it because of the paper.

I have a pretty ugly scar on my left inner arm where I caught myself with the hot nozzle on a paint stripping gun some years ago now. I hope you find a safer way to age your paper! LOL!

Getting burned ain't no fun that's for sure. I generally do my best to avoid it. Accidents happen when you start doing lazy stupid things instead of doing them the right way though, so I just try to avoid being lazy and stupid with my tasks (it's hard work though, both those things come so naturally to me ).

It doesn't help if you've been stripping skirting boards and door frames for 6 hours already
