Beautiful. Any hints on creating the aged patina?

Thanks Troy, but I'm not quite sure what you mean by patina, I just added a paper background to make it look old. I also used several layers set to overlay under the water, and painted black with a grungy brush to add some subtle rusty bits for variation underneath. The top layers of the water were set to multiply with a dark greenish blue, and the opacity turned down, I had to use several layers with different opacities to get the effect...I hope that helps, again I'm not quite sure what you mean by patina, so I hope I guessed right, if not let me know and I'll do my best to explain it better.

Great to see this finally done Kacey. What a beautiful style you've captured with it and you've nailed the aged look perfectly!

Wonderful map, you've got there, kacey!
Overall, the "ye ol' map" style is very consistent. The parchment texture looks great. I particularly like your choice of font and the labeling overall. The mountains, rivers and shape of the land blend well together.

Now, I will give a few minor points of - hopefully constructive - criticism: the coastlines, to me, look too "crude". The standard outward fading rings are a fine fit for the map's style, but I'd personally have spaced them closer, so they don't look so "automated". Also, the forests seem too "faded", a little too indistinct. Again, the look fits well with the map, but I'd have made them denser and upped the strength of the color, so they stand more in contrast with the parchment base.

But still, a superb effort, keep it up!

I thouht i have commented this map alerady.... it must have been wip. Kacey i love this map. This style is so clean and pleasant to watch. i would agree with Daelin to make the forests a little bit more noticable?, but i love it anyways. Great work. Definately want to see more maps from you.

Thanks Voolf. I have had comments about the trees before, Eilathen reminded me several times and I had planned on making them a bit more pronounced but in the end I just wanted to be done with it. There's many more things I had wanted to do, I didn't do any sea labels either...I probably should have I think it would have finished it off a little nicer.
