Finally, the map is not animated but we can see the details. Maybe I'll do another animated version eventually.
I'll consider it finished unless someone spot something needing to be fixed.

I know, I'll fix the trees later. They appear over the mountains.
I had a question about the grass/plain. I was wondering if it was better to have a fake 3d grass like the farmlands (number 1), or more like a flat texture (number 2). I might need to adjust the colours too. I can still use 70 other colours before I get to 256. 256 is the ideal number if I plan to animate the (not really).
I was also wondering what type of farmland looked the best. I think it's the one in the north west so far. I will probably redo the one in the east in a similar fashion. That is the last style I tested and also the one that took the least time to do.
A bit of background. Each country has a different architecture, navy and flag. Ship are identified with the color of their country.
South est = Italy
South west= Asian nomadic orcs
Vossarik SJvoji, Arabian with Slavic names..
Kanemoon = France
Grimpathi= Viking
North est: Nothing specific, Northern Europe

Really cool, Azelor. I caught myself thinking 'now where should I send my settler units...'
Oh. I wanted to include units as well but at this scale it looked awful.

You made me want to play again ! Wonderful map !
That's an amazing pixel art map, Azelor! Very unique!
Chiming in just to agree that this is some amazing pixel art. Some of the small details are especially neat, like the different regions having different styles of farmland/fences/etc and the different ships, animals, and riders - and even just having nice, intelligible townbuildings when three or so fit comfortably inside 10x10 pixels! The framing of a menu for a strategy game is great and fitting presentation too, although the map itself seems like it could also suit a classic computer RPG adventure.
...Also I'm a little curious where that one camel rider is headed in the southeast corner Secrets of the desert?
