    I think the color scheme works pretty well, and the border is indeed well done - the dedication to it shows! The one thing that does bother me a bit is the emptiness of the sea. The compass - which is beautiful, btw - helps to fill it out a bit, but even so the focus of the piece is maybe not where it should be. Unless, of course, the ocean plays a significant role in the map, that I of course don't know. This is a really great map!

    The farms are impressive - such a little thing, just some strokes, and yet I can almost feel the rolling hills, especially on the southern part of the southeastern island.

    That's a really good point! This is a case where I think the story's needs trumped those of design, and such is the case with commission work sometimes, since the distances between land masses were already set in the book and there wasn't much room to rearrange things. I did encourage the client to name the sea (which you can see she did ironically! because originally it didn't even have that. Thanks for your comment!
