Doesn't feel bare to me at all, the amount of detail on the landmass is just right! You might want to add something to the water though, it feels quite flat.
And I have to agree with Bogie, there is something off about the shoreline. I don't get what you're going for with that outer line. I'd just ditch it and put the horizontal line to the coast.
