I quite like the orrery, the crocs, the tents, the outbuildings, the... You get the idea

Regarding your idea of doing it more cartoony, without a texture though, I think I prefer the artsy-er feel of having a texture. But that is just my preference. See what other folks say too

Thanks man! And just btw, I am basing the Orrery on Pathfinder's solar system, but I can always figure a more general look out to make it rules neutral.

Aww, thank you. I appreciate it. Also, that is a very good idea! I'll try to keep it in mind.

Hehe, I'm glad you like it. I'm trying something a bit different. And I'll be sure to keep an eye on if I should reveal the texture layer again. For now I feel that every asset has a more cartoony feel, so it kinda felt the texture was overpowering, but I'll check and our fellow cartographers can ponder about it too.

    Default Lily Pads

So for this one, I played with making a lily pad asset that would work for the map. That, and I placed my flooring. I did try something with giving them color regions, but I'd like your feedback on that.

    Anyhoo, hope you enjoy.

The lily pads look great! That is for sure. As to the flooring, the coloration looks slightly odd to my eye, but if this is intended to be a battle map (or something similar for a tabeltop game), then I think the colors are perfect. The GM can surely think of all kinds of uses for them, and it gives some variety to the piece.

Thanks! After the challenge, I'll make the lily pad set available as an asset.

I appreciate the feedback. And it is intended as an Encounter map/battle map. I want to get the coloration right for use in that regard, so any alteration feedback is appreciated.

Help To be or not to be?

I have to admit, I'm a bit stumped. I spent several hours to do a small swamp plant or small mangrove set for the map. But, now I am unsure if it fits on the map. How do you all feel about it?

I quite like it with the trees. Without them, I sort of lose the sense of space to the rest of the image, but they give a feel for what else is around the orrery, and are certainly the type of thing players in a game would want to make use of, and have a sense for. In short, good job adding 'em!

I'll second the plants. I'm pretty much a believer in map scatters.
