Thank you for your comments and questions Jerron!

There are separate lingua franca in the southern part of Meiglid and northern part of Meiglid.
There were two ancient empires such as the European "Roman Empire". in the north and south respectively.

And Meiglid The Large peninsula has its own language.
For convenience the prefix is written in one language, but there are several languages of Meiglid.
The name of the city and the name of the country conform to the pronunciation of that particular language.

Next time, I will make a language map!

You are correct. The meaning of a title can be different in different places and at different times. For example, many nobles titles in the United Kingdom today are mostly symbolic.
Duchies do not exist like in the Middle ages were the noble could collect his own taxes and lift an army by himself.

So you can call an independent country a Marquis if they decided to keep that title.

In what era does this story take place?

In the first pictures, I assumed it was in the modern era but with all the noble titles involved, I'm not so sure.

    Thank you for always commenting!

    I'm sorry.
    My explanation was insufficient.
Meiglid's "1300 years" is not "modern" when compared with the era of Europe.

There are no dragons in this area, but guns and gunpowder do not exist either.
"Magic" is a relic of the past. No one knows whether it really existed.
And the minstrel is still active actively.
It is such an era. It is such a world.

Meiglid had two "great ancient empires" like the Roman Empire.
The turmoil associated with the annihilation of that ancient empire caused a cultural recession, but "now" is not a dark age.

Suppose a political event has occurred in Kingdom of Genserur 's important city Sēdils.
This important information will reach the capital city of Kingdom of Hoysen, Hwātwebali, in about 2 weeks to 1 month.

In the southwest part of Meiglid (also called Raselif Central Plain), the road network and the commercial network developed.
For that reason, Republic of Great Orkis was formed by integrating many kingdoms.
Without a road network, Great Orkis would not be able to maintain the vast territory.
If the commercial network had not been developed, the Republic was surely split up.

And the second huge force late by 100 years from the Republic was formed in Meiglid. It is Empire of Eikmis.

About 12 th century passed since the collapse of the ancient empire, a huge force comparable to the former empire was made.

In the north, 4th century has passed since the collapse of the ancient empire.
There are definite changes in the nation on the north coast as well.

In Age of Warring States people asked the king for "courage" and "strength".
Long time passed, these changed to "political power" and "bloodline".
With this, the Kingdom became very hard to collapse.
From the era when the kingdom perished overnight, it has become an era to gain profit through negotiations.
In the case of Europe, is it about the 10th to the 12th century? .

    Meiglid passed the "dark medieval".
There is no gun. The industrial revolution has not occurred.
But civilization and society are changing steadily.

Meiglid Common Era year 1300 is such era!

    Thank you!

I am using Wacom's pen tablet and MediBang Paint painting software.
MediBang Paint has poor performance compared to advanced software such as Photoshop, but I think it will work lightly.
It is free software. (I am not an employee or a salesperson of MediBang Paint)

I processed text data and drop shadow in Photoshop.

MediBang Paint | The official site for MediBang Paint, the free digital painting and manga creation software. You can download the latest version of MediBang Paint here, and get news and tutorials.

More like the Renaissance but without guns.

    Yes!
There are differences, but Meiglid is probably such a world.

    Thank you for waiting.
Language map of Meiglid was completed for the time being!

The language of Meiglid has two Language families in north and south.
    Texture means subfamily of language.

Perhaps, there will be many more dialects in local.
However, because it is technically difficult to express it, it is summarized largely.
