Gandwarf has fallen into shadow...
I absolutely love this map, and would love to tackle something like this sometime in the near future.

This is amazing. How on earth did you make this? I'm in the process of creating my own map for a novel I'm writing but it looks nowhere near as good as this.

Thanks Dominic I was about to write a long post with the basics of how to go about making something similar but thought I'd ask first: was that a rhetorical question?
Thanks tilt! The fonts are Optimus Princeps, Stonehenge, Scriptina Pro and Gentium (Gentium italic on rivers). Not sure about gentium but the rest are from dafont.com.

Yea I was serious. My own WIP map uses triangle-like mountains. I've mostly been drawing slightly squiggly "A"s without the line in the middle and applying shading for them one by one, which I know is going to take me a while but looks better than making one and copying and pasting it. How did you go about creating yours? They look like they were drawn one by one, but they detail to it is far greater than mine looks. I only have photoshop though as well so it might be the program you're using. Make a TUT, it would be fascinating to know the steps you took
