Strange how the water falling off the edges doesn't fall straight down![]()

I make use of Wag's mountain brushes.
It does in the places where I've gone back and properly painted the landscape already.![]()
In the places where it's still just roughly sketched out, however, you're right. I've never had great fine motor control, so I do the detail work zoomed way in. But I do rough sketches zoomed out, so that I can see the big picture. Hence zigs where there should be zags (or straight lines).
So no, the gravity-defying behavior of the sketched water is not intentional. I considered having the water act differently, or have gravity in several directions, but decided against it. I figured that making the water behave in the usual fashion would help to anchor the more surreal aspects of the landscape.
I had no idea that Escher did maps!

...and here I am, scrambling at the last minute once again.
This isn't done yet, so I expect to have one more up before the contest closes, but uploading what I have now just to be safe.

I need to choose less ambitious projects -- things I can realisitically finish in the timeframe allowed!
This is as done as it's going to get before the deadline:

I just noticed another error -- another river doing something it shouldn't -- but I'm going to leave this one in.
So, there is (at least) one spot where a river is doing something impossible.
