The one with the Sumerian pegasi looks totally friggin awesome...I'd vote for that one. Nice job, my man.

If the radiance of a thousand suns was to burst at once into the sky, that would be like the splendor of the Mighty One...I am become Death, the Shatterer of worlds.

The British museum strikes again (I think?).
Looks great. That's a really novel approach to the month's challenge.
Thanks guys, yup it's the british Museum, but the big problem is that the backgrounds are internet downloads so the resolution is not good. I don't work far from the BM so I'll pop in next week and get some proper pictures on my own camera.
All this photoshopping is a lot of fun but it's not improving the actual map any, which is still not much of a map. I think when it comes to the final entry, I'll just put the vanilla map up on its own, perhaps with some sort of explanation as to what it all means (if I finish it in time).
I like the Egyptian Hall one

I think the one where the disc is between the asyrian? babylonian? sphinxes is the best of the bunch. Great "fingerprints of the gods" idea here.
Something witty and pithy
I concur, very awesome. Would look even better if it were 'weathered' a bit

I'm not happy putting the british museum one up as the final entry, it's too much about the context than the map itself, which I think is unfair, so I've edited the latest WIP as the plain jane (unfinished) plate on its own. Easier to see that way too.
