Now that I have this done, it's time to get back to what's inside the caverns...

Well, I have been busting my hump all night to bring this map closer to completion. I've actually done quite a bit today, working off and on. But it's now 530 am my time, and I'm starting to make stupid mistakes... so that's my cue to put this map to rest, until I get some rest. So this is my last post for 'tonight'. I'm sure I will post more tomorrow...or later today...

    blur.jpg

You probably know it, and it may even serve a purpose ... but if not, your background texture has a strange blur in the area shown above.

Yup! That's one of the stupid mistakes I kept missing, that marked how tired I was that particular section has the blur effect on it, I forgot to remove it, that's all.

I'm actually debating on whether to remove the blur from that section, or to blur the rest of it.... the redundancy is still a little too high, but I'm afraid if I raise the tile size any higher it's going to pixelate. So I'm considering the blur to soften that up a bit.

Since you didn't ask my opinion, I'm gonna give it to you anyway. Don't blur. Blur is yucky. I don't personally see a lot of redundancy, but still, if you want to break up the grass texture a little bit, maybe try brushing on a dirt texture to create some random bare spots? Or trees? Or both? I don't know... but I stand by my original assessment: Blur is yucky.

I'd happily repeat what industrygothica just said, but I don't want to be repetitive. Well, maybe just a little bit. Don't blur!

Otherwise, while involved with his Rainy Day Women #12 & 35, Bob Dylan sang out the clear truth: Everybody must get stoned!

lol... that's three strikes... the blur's out! Actually, Mouse gave me a really cool idea, that unfortunately I can't use... the way she outlined it, but it gave me the inspiration for another idea that I'm actually going to go with...and once I get the bushes and trees and other stuff in... it will be great!
