That's an amazing map ! Cannot wait to see it finished. Do you plan on showing forested areas and if so, how ?

I've been thinking about it and experimenting a bit with forests, but so far I can't find any visually pleasing way to do so, so I think I will have to pass - unless you guys have some ideas on it.

I was curious because I hit the same wall. No judgement, the map is already amazing

Woah. Just woah! And you're doing this on actual paper, with an actual pen?

Has anyone ever told you you're crazy? Because you are: crazy talented!

The trouble with forest, or any vegetation, at this scale is that you really wouldn't see it as anything distinct.
All that I have found to do with a map at this scale and in this sort of style is to do a texture that gives a feel of tree cover.
But, it usually just makes the scene busier and sort of muddies it.
Definitely don't try it on the original. Scan it or get a photo and then do a print out and test on the print out.

I tried a few quick test forests, but none really seemed right for the style.

Just wonderfully on point, love the attention to detail, and style of mountain formations!

Incredible work indeed! Why not just use color or contrast for the forests?
