looks really good jugg - maybe some drop shadows on the items stacked on and about the map?

Clinton money? What a distopia! *shudders*
Looking good. I'd make the red canvas mat something more grungy. How about the underside of an overturned cardboard box, like the Times Square shell game guys use?

I too like the idea of the shell-box off to the side, almost off camera, and maybe some dice laying around too. This 'map' has so much space for cool accoutrement!
Yeah, I'm just trying to get the bits and pieces together. Headspace isn't quite right at the moment to keep it going for now. And I personally find it very hard to do top-down objects, like the box or the dice or any plastic figurines...

Something that you can do to make top-down objects easier is to find a top-down photo of the object you want trace it and then color it and apply whatever shadows you want.It works well enough and gives the object a nice hand drawn look.
Sure, I know how to do that sort of thing, but I can be a super fuss sometimes. There are parts of what I have already that grate me a bit and I'm either skeptical of my ability to fix them or unsure how to go about it.

For the cast-off box top you could take a photo yourself...maybe a smallish puzzle box...and integrate that into the image. If you wanted to show the "cover", you could create one and then skew it to go over the existing picture on the box? Just a thought.
You've got me wanting to make a minigame. I used to love the minigames back in the 80s. Mmmm...Car Wars!
