Bet you thought I forgot about this one, eh? Nope! It was just languishing, pleading to be finished, until I got motivated to work on it again. Not only have I started mapping this world some more, but I've been working on some lore for it as well...

Great to see you reviving this thread Diamond. The new type and border look really classy together. Interesting to see that you switched the names of some places. What were your thoughts behind that? Really looking forward to read about the lore, esp. the cataclysmic event.

Thanks, Abu! The border is the one I did for the recent Challenge map I did, and I thought it looked pretty cool here as well. As far as switching the names, I didn't care for what I had, to be honest. Just decided to go with something I liked better.

Some preliminary lore:

The Old World of Qanat was a place of peace and plenty, where high technology and magic worked side by side to create the next evolution of mankind: the Cingulum. Conceived as a portal to a parallel realm that was thought to be populated by a higher lifeform who could teach the realms of Man their secrets, the Cingulum was the work of decades. Thousands of men and women and the treasure of dozens of nations went into its making. Constructed high on Mount Aard in the Empire of Tarn, everyone believed it was a portal to the Heavens.

It was not.

Really nice work, really like the border and font too. You almost miss the "Empty Marches" type. The yellow and white seem a little bright and the two boxes on opposite corner are maybe too even sized? Looking forward to the story.

This is looking really wonderful so far. I love the shape of the land and the overall composition. The colours, textures and font all look really great as well. Very beautiful map!
