I've started to add some settlements and done some labelling, mainly to see how it looks. I need to learn how to do paths and label along them in Inkscape. I might give it a bash first thing in the morning because I've been working on this since about 10am and it's gone 1 now :/

Those scumbag citizens insisted on eating so I've started to block in a bit of farmland. Some main roads to go in and then I'll have to start thinking about finishing up. I know where the treasure is - do you?

Up in the northern forest someplace?

    I don't know!

Your mapping has a lovely fresh colour style, but I'm having difficulty seeing the fields. Maybe take out the dark green underneath them? I don't know how you are creating the colour, but it seems to me that you are using lots of transparent layers? I don't think the yellow would look very nice if it was less transparent though, as it has a tendency to overpower all the other colours and draw attention to it.

Having trouble deciding what the brownish layer is....

I wanted the fields to be very subtle, not stand out or anything, but I'll hopefully have some time to fiddle with all the balances later

Ah yeah, that's where many people would look for the treasure, but no...

Wow, so far I can only say that I love the way you've done your terrain!

Thanks Wired. It's something I've been working on.

I've added some roads so people can get about the place a little easier. The lazy bleeders! When I was a lad we didn't have these new fangled roads... blah blah bah...

    And now a few labels.

Before someone suggests text-to-path - I tried that but it all went awry!

Text along a path is never kind to mappers in a hurry. I wouldn't worry about it, though, because what you've done looks great
