Thx for the kind words. I did not expect any colours myself but could not help myself. It would have worked in B/W i think, but I was curious to see how far it will go.
Like ChickPea, I wasn't expecting you to colour this either, but it works well and your palette compliments the map very nicely and also brings to life your border Nice work, Troedel!

Yeah it definitely would have worked in B&W too, but now that I see what you've done, I definitely think colouring it was the right move to make!
The promised cleanup. Thank you for spotting.
Edit: I corrected the scale bar to reflect 8 * 25 miles = 400 miles. That is to adress some issues mentioned down the thread.

It's looking great, Troedel! You've really done a fantastic job with this.

Agreed, love the map, the scale with the horses is fantastic, BUT, I think it is labeled wrong. I think it should be 50 miles not 500. at that scale Rainbow Lake is 500 miles across and it would be 800 miles from Shadyvale to Leah, yet they walk there in a few days. Not sure if the map in the book has a scale, I will check it when I get home.

You may be right. There is a reference from the official store ( ... ) and it´s even larger. 50 miles is to low, maybe its 200. If you can find a reference in the books I would use it. I thought about and could not decide wrong from right. Most fan art maps don´t even have a scale and I wonder why
But thanks for the spot.
The map in my book also does not have a scale. I don't recall a specific reference to how far things were in the story, only how long it took to walk from one town to the next. These types of maps are often not drawn to scale, only used to show relative position of locales so I'd say you can make the scale be what ever you feel is best.

I'm loving the way this map is turning out. The style you have used to create this map is fantastic and one of my favorites.
