So, just to be clear, since I'm new to guild conventions: The monthly challenges all have a particular theme or focus. Is the challenge here just...make a map, we have a year to work on it?

Yup. This year the type and style of map is entirely up to you. It may be that we have a theme in successive years, we'll see.

Wow, I'm surprised I didn't see this sooner. I think it's a great idea. I will look forward to the results. Also, keeping it open for the entire year does sound like a good idea to me. If were also keeping it un-themed, I think that would encourage maximum participation.

    Good luck everyone.
The best maps are the ones we like the most after looking at the longest.

This is such a crazy idea. I can't imagine what might come out of a years worth of map making. I wonder...is it healthy to work on something for so long?

If you're like me you will brainstorm for something like 8 months and then try to cram it in at the end. If that happens it should be noted that if someone has been crafting on something for that long it may be hard to compete with it.

Good point. And were already three months in. I'll have to keep my initial brainstorming to a minimum.

Here I am, at one thirty in the morning, drinking hot chocolate and attempting to draw a map but promptly spilling said drink all over it. Sigh.
    So there goes that idea

Three months already? Heck, that was quick.

Well, I narrowed my ideas to a list of five or six possibilities but I won't have much time to consider it further until September at the soonest, so... I guess I'll be cramming. Hi Jax.
