So I think I'm looking at a black market trading political map. We'll see how it turns out.
No I've read very few Dragonlance novels largely because it's its hard to figure out where to even start or whats good because there are so many of them and so many authors. The Dragonlance novels/novel I do remember reading had to do with a dwarf who forged a hammer using a couple of rocks, and one with a minotaur. Honestly though it was so long ago.
As for the idea I wasn't thinking of some major shift of the earth but rather the dwarfs constructing and digging things below the water line and it somehow springing a leak and flooding, or a failure to pump enough incoming water out, so it flooded. I think your idea sounds awesome TBH.

I was thinking...
Lost in Space x Filling a gap in time and space x Verticality = A vertical odd tower/spaceship mix? floating somewhere in universe with five levels inside that can be accesible via portals only.... to much ?
I already have a perferct image of it. Unfortunately it is beyond my skills![]()

I dont recall a dwarf forging a hammer... perhaps I have forgotten that bit of it.
I was saying about the original trilogy set: The Dragonlance Chronicles.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragonlance_Chronicles
I thought the Chronicles were an excellent series. There was a seond trilogy which is equally good and it follows on called the Dragonlance Legends which pretty much ends the whole story and its then all wrapped up. Then there has been numerous books based on the fantasy setting known as Ansalon, none of which I have read.
I am looking forward to seeing your entry tho. Your lighting from Blender in the Guild City was exquisite.
The map I would like to do is all down to how much time I can get spare and lately that has been slim. But what I think id like to do is a steep cliff where some roman timeframe merchant has a villa (possibly in italy). At some point the cliff slips and his villa sides into the sea. Much later on, semi modern - the villa is unearthed due to erosion and its excavated by some archeologists and the map shows the point where they uncover or reveal some nice things the merchant had in his villa - i.e. gold. Most of it will be underwater at various depths with only a few bits above but all of the cliff will rise out. The difficulty would be to make the map in 3D and then erode it from the sea enough so that its realistically knackered but not so much that the shape is not apparent any more. It needs to be on a slope or twisted and broken up a bit and I kind of need sand to pour over the top like snow in a blizzard. But I have a good app for doing that so its kinda making me want to try it. Its a tough prospect really. Not sure I will have enough oomph to complete it.

That would be awesome. There are quite a few Roman cities on the the coast here that have sunk into the water. I think the roman part of Caesarea is half under water for instance. Although I think Tyre went the other way, there is more land there now than there was, sediment buildup I think.
I saw submerged and verticality and my brain went straight to Xak Tsaroth! I've actually been planning to map a sunken tower with some submerged portions for an upcoming D&D campaign, so Xak Tsaroth has been on my mind. I need to decide if I have enough time to devote to this challenge...but if I do, I'm planning to map a partially submerged marketplace in a sunken tower. Maybe the tower was on a sinkhole and as it sunk, the natural underground springs started to eat through the walls. Maybe some gully dwarves still live there.![]()
Oh this is heating up to be another big one I think, 8 challengers already. It's going to be good.
I want to join in, but I haven't got anything much to post yet. I want to include 'Gothic Horror' as one of my themes, but after a little bit of playing about, everything looks a bit more like Scooby Doo horror. Oh well...![]()
