And what would be the length of the shadow compared to the height of a building?
I'd like to map all or part of 'Guild City'
I'd like to watch people trying to map 'Guild City'
This is a bad idea, please don't use it!
Its the direction and length that are important more than the time of day

I think Straf figured out the angle of the shadow was 67 degrees or something like that. It was a while ago though so I don't know who it was. So the length of shadow for a 10 ft tall pole would be 4.24 feet.
I've just spent half an hour scanning and searching the thread for key words like angle, sun, length etc, and I can't find it. Mind you - that doesn't mean it isn't there. Straf probably managed to express it without using any of those words
Or... it could be in the other thread?

Yeah, I can't find it either.
It seems to make sense. I used Darwin Australia because it's the exact same latitude. So it's early October.

I think the shadow is just under half the height of the object.
So a mesa that is 150 foot high needs a shadow that is 75 feet long, which is equivalent to 15 grid squares.... which means I need to revise the position of at least one mesa in District 15 to avoid casting a shadow on the land to the south east which isn't mine to map...
