    Not surprising. Real ASCII is an ancient character set created in 8-bit days. It has relatively few characters. People really should use extended ANSI character sets in these times.

    Don't you mean Unicode? ANSI is also old and 8-bit using different pages for different languages.

    Sure do. Unicode is exactly what I meant. Must have been lost in reveries, reminiscing about the gold ol' days. Thanks for catching that.

    Any sufficiently advanced ASCII character set is indistinguishable from Unicode. For the values of "ASCII" (of which there is only one 7-bit encoding) and "UTF-8", which is one of many possible Unicode encodings. No need to drag ANSI and code pages into this: that way lies madness and UTF-16...

    Just in case you are wondering...

    I've pulled out of the Challenge due to technical problems with my PC. That's why my map isn't showing up. I took the WIP tag off it.
