    Generally, a cartouche is the background ornament that encloses a legend, scale bar or title on a map.

    More specifically, it's a symbol in Egyptian hieroglyphs—the oval around a king's name, if I remember right.

    The CSUAC is a 476 MB collection of commercially-usable (mostly top-down) art culled from the Dundjinni User Forums and sorted into folders. It is now available for download from here. I've also made it available as a complete set in a single Zip file, for convenience.
